Geek Fights Best Holiday Special Or Movie 2013 Edition

We weren't joking. Every year, we are running this episode just like real holiday specials on TV. We'll add something, first it was Allen remastering the audio and adding an intro and easter eggs. Then it was Mike doing a commentary on the episode. This year we added a little something new too. The old stuff as always is Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Kathy Lehman, Tess Craft and Allen discussing the BEST HOLIDAY SPECIAL OR MOVIE.

Bah humbug!

Nostalgia Zone

So Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz and Jason Thompson sat down and watched 1988's Willow from George Lucas and Ron Howard. They hadn't seen it in 25 years or so. they all think they liked it then but remember very little. Listen as they watch for the first time in ages and give their thoughts about the movie, the Wolverine, the demise of action movies, the demon inside Val Kilmer and much more that has nothing to do with the movie/

Geek Fights 166: Best Buttchug Beverage

So yeah Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Josh VanValkenberg, Michael Felsher, Christy Wooke, Shauna Reynolds and Veeraj Keshwala spend over 2 hours talking about pouring things isn their butt, hence BEST BUTTCHUG BEVERAGE. They are surprisingly serious and well thought out in their sometimes passionate arguments. This is the entire unedited Skype call for the episode because this kind of gold isn't contained to a geek fight. especially when the sex toy talk starts, and it's not quite what you think

Allen & Jerad DIDN’T See Star Trek Into Darkness, But Talk About It Anyway

Allen & Jerad Formby haven't seen Star Trek: Into Darkness yes, but they still talk about it. There's no spoilers (because they haven't seen it) and they don't spend the whole time talking about it (because they haven't seen it), but they spend a good deal of time talking about Star Trek 2009, Star Trek in general, hopes for the new movie, fears about the new move, and some thoughts on the next one.

Geek Fights 142: Video Game Character Showdown

video_game_character_showdiwn.jpg

I don't know sh!t about video games, but Damon Shaw, Jason Grade, Chris Mitchell, Dan Janes and of course Josh Month's own Josh VanValkenburg do, and if you listen, you will too. Oh yeah, Mike Ortiz is there but only for a second. I'd try some bits and bytes jokes here, maybe some pac man eating comments, or some "why is Batman here, don't we have enough Batman, he had his own episode a year ago" yadda yadda yadda, but I'm short on time this week, sorry!

Join Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Michael Felsher, Josh Bradley, Rudy Schuepbach and Pete Trudgeon for an episode with that heaps far too much praise on Teen Witch, which is not even a third movie.

Geek Fights Bonus: Star Wars: Who Really Shot First

star_wars_who_shot_first.jpg

IT'S STAR WARS WEEK. Star Wars week ends as we tackle the greatest Star Wars controversy ever. We all know Han shot first, but George Lucas insists that Greedo shot first. Geek Fights undertook and investigation and found something shocking...

This video is for parody purposes. We claim no copyrights to any of this. All copyrights are owned by large well lawyered corporations that would crush us if we implied otherwise. But the more they tighten their grasp, the more videos will slip through their fingers. Damn that's copyrighted too. Skip that last part. I just hope they have a sense of humor. If they strike us down, we will become more powerful than they can possibly imagine. A sparkly blue ghost. Yeah that's copyrighted too.

Help us fair use parody exemption, you're our only hope.

Geek Fights Bonus: Star Wars Nitpickers Commentary

star_wars_nitpicker_commentary.jpg

IT'S STAR WARS WEEK! Star Wars week begins with Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Chris Mitchell and Allen talking over the original theatrical cut of Star Wars. But this is a nitpicker commentary so they take aim and fire proton torpedoes at every exhaust port they can find. They rip a new hope, a new hole by lovingly exploring every plot problem, contrivance and just plain crazy premise. That's how we show our love here, by tearing it apart! We nitpick because we love.

Geek Fights 119: Best Of John Williams

best_john_williams.jpg

Only a few people have truly defined the modern geek experience. Lucas, Roddenberry, Asimov, Bradbury, Spielberg, Whedon, Lee, Kirby, Tolkien and others, but none has touched as wide a range as the subject of this weeks Geek Fight. He not only provided the soundtracks to Star Wars, Superman, Jaws, Close Encounters, Raiders of the Lost Ark, ET and Harry Potter, he damn near provided the soundtrack for being a geek. Join Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Michael Felsher (maybe?) Dominick Williams and Chris Fiore as they sing the praises of the BEST OF JOHN WILLIAMS. We don't know what was up with Michael, don't ask. Maybe John Williams awesomeness made is so he couldn't spew any hate and his brain imploded. Maybe he was just having fun. I'm not sure, but if John Williams did the soundtrack to this episode it would be awesome.

If John Williams wanted to do a Geek Fights theme, we would probably have to dump Jerad's intros. Sorry Jerad, maybe we just make them the break. We love you, but it's John "I did the score for Star Wars AND Raiders AND Superman AND Jaws AND Harry Potter AND a lot more, and you didn't, so step the f*ck off" Williams. Hell if he wanted to host or co-host the show we'd have to let him. His geek cred is that strong. After all He is John "Didn't you see my cred in my last quotation mark middle name" Williams.

Brackets as usual: PDF and Excel format.
